Shepherd's Delight
Even though I made this quilt in 1992, it's still one of my favourites. The colours work well together and the centre really glows. It's on display at the Sultan Gallery in Lancaster (UK), where it is suspended from the ceiling and viewed from below. The gallery is well worth a visit, as is the Sultan Restaurant which serves great Indian food. Machine pieced and quilted using hand dyed fabrics and some lamés. 1992. 115cm X 115cm.

I love the work of Vasarely and his use of optical illusions. When viewed from a distance the centre of this quilt really does look like it's coming out toward you. Machine pieced and quilted using hand dyed fabrics and black. 125cm X 125cm.
